Living Your Blessed Life Is A Choice Only You Can Make

Updated: Nov 23, 2020

You may be asking why a travel agent chose to name her blog Live Your Blessed Life. While I will talk about travel a lot, it is a huge part of how I live my blessed life today, I will also talk about how I came to this point in my life. I hope the things I talk about will help you in whatever you are going through in your life.

Each one of us has a story and what I have learned as I have gotten older is that just because the cover is absolutely beautiful and looks perfect, you have no idea all the twists and turns of the story, until you spend time reading the story. I don't mean skimming it for the main ideas . . . I mean really taking your time to read every detail, even those extra notes that give you more understanding of where the author is coming from in each situation. But something that has become very clear to me is, no matter the twists and turns my life has taken, living my blessed life is a choice I have to make each and every day . . . and some days it is a minute by minute choice I have to make.

Living Your Blessed Life Is A Choice You Must Make Each And Every Day

I grew up in a military family, moving every few years and even the years I wasn't moving I had friends move away because their dad got transferred. In second grade I was diagnosed with dyslexia and that was the beginning of many years of self-doubt and feeling bad about myself because "I wasn't as smart as the other kids" and I got made fun of. My Mom taught me at home for a few years around middle school and constantly told me I could do anything anyone else could do, it just might take me a little longer. I played basketball and volleyball; I wasn't the best athlete, but I enjoyed playing. My true love was in art and I loved taking every opportunity I could to get better. In high school I was accepted into a program that I attended an art school half a day and that was such a wonderful experience that helped build my confidence because it was something I loved and was good at. There were still kids who tried to bring me down in high school and I did still struggle with self-confidence but I started learning to channel that energy to prove I was good enough. While I was in college, I met my husband who has always encouraged me, tells me how beautiful I am, how strong and smart I am and pushes me to be the best person I can be. He is the first one to remind me not to listen to haters and that I need to stop caring about everyone else's opinion of me.

Until You Stop Listening To The Haters It Will Be Hard To Live Your Blessed Life

There will always be people out there telling you that idea you have is out of reach or you are dumb for dreaming big dreams. There will always be people out there saying things behind your back. It is time you stop listening to them and dream big. Set your goals and go for it! If you want to live your blessed life make the choice today and go for it! If you don't have a person who pushes you, find your person.

I was a stay at home mom for over ten years and for at least the last five years every time we would go on vacation I would say to my husband, "I wish I could help people plan trips like this so they can make amazing memories with their family, it makes me so happy." Finally, when both our kids were in school full time he told me to stop talking about it and go for it. So, March 2015 I started A&A Travel with KC.

On this journey I have met some of the most wonderful people and had the opportunity to travel to some great places. I have been blessed with absolutely amazing clients, many of them become friends who I get to dream with about their vacations and reminisce with about their experiences when they return. I truly am so lucky to do something I love this much. I have become very close friends with some other travel agents who are the most encouraging and caring people. These ladies push me to be my best and are there for me when I'm having a hard time. I am so grateful God put each of them in my life!

I won't lie I have come across my share of people who haven't liked the way I do things or have tried to bring my spirit down. No matter what we do, this is going to happen. What we have to do is choose to listen to God's promises:

  • I am made to be blessed ~ Genesis 12:2

  • I am fearfully and wonderfully made ~ Psalms 139:14

  • I am the apple of my Father's eye ~ Psalms 17:8

  • I am equipped to do the impossible through Him ~ Genesis 41:16

  • I am set free ~ John 8:31

  • I am victorious ~ Revelations 12:11

These are just a few of the affirmations I have clipped to my computer screen so I see them while I am sitting at my desk.

You Are An Amazing Person Who Deserves To Live Your Blessed Life
